Established in 1995 by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL), National Assisted Living Week (which begins on Grandparents Day each year) helps promote awareness about assisted living facilities and the important way they benefit local communities, residents, and their families.

This year’s National Assisted Living Week is September 8^th—14^th. The theme is “A Spark of Creativity,” which aims to inspire residents to tap into their creative side, whether through the arts or beyond.

“‘A Spark of Creativity’ encourages everyone to get their creative juices flowing—whether it’s residents trying out new things, or caregivers exploring innovative ways to improve care and community life,” said Scott Tittle, Executive Director of NCAL.

Many assisted living communities are hosting a variety of events and activities throughout the week to help inspire creativity in residents, staff, family members, and neighbors, including Grand Oaks of Palm City.

Ways You Can Create a Spark of Creativity

• Join your loved one in an art class or creative activity planned at Grand Oaks of Palm City, like painting, meditation, or any of the special events we have planned to celebrate Assisted Living Week. Be sure to check our September Calendar for dates and times!
